George received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in 1977 at the University of Lowell, Massachusetts. He went on to join the United States Air Force from July of 1977 through June 1981. He was promoted to his present position of Major in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard in 1989.

George worked at Stanley Structures from June 1981 until March 1985, when he began at High Concrete Structures, Inc.

George is a registered Professional Engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Wyoming.
